- does there exists any another add-on as not defined on the publicly available pages for i-doit.com/org
Are there any function or add-on to create 'normal' documentation structure like e.g. Confluence ?
Also, on this page https://kb.i-doit.com/display/en/Add-ons it states:
"Beside these add-ons there are many others which are provided by our partners or external developers. You can find a detailed list at the i-doit website i-doit.com under Product → Add-ons." But that is the same list, there are no more defined add-ons on that side. Typo or anything else ? -
Hi,
The Add-on costs only apply to the Add-ons listed with "Subject to license" marked, which are these three at the moment: Documents, Analysis and VIVA.
The ISMS and Check-MK Add-on will follow this list within this year.The reason why you do not see any partner Add-ons is because the english page is not updated regarding Add-ons at the moment. We will introduce an Add-store in this year which will be available for all users. If you want to take a look at the available partner Add-ons please translate the german Add-on page or simply wait until we launch the Add-store.
Regarding your question for "normal" documentation we always adivse to use a wiki of your choice such as Confluence and link to it from within i-doit. i-doit provides an "Access" category for each object that can contain dynamically created links to other websites.

More license questions.What about more than than 10,000 objects or is it up to or more than 10,000 objects that license level means ?
Does all partners add-ons need to stick to the same "licensing levels". They are however free to define their own price per those levels I assume ?
Except for the object count are logical relationships and references between objects.

Is it possible to define own customized configuration items if the system does not provide one, e.g. hand-held scanners, PDA, IP DECT bases, Access Points ?For the example below, is that an correct assumption ?
A bare metal server, in the rack, connect to the panel on port 1, which is connected to the switch on port 1This is a relationship, with 5 object depending on the definition

With the definition about PC as a object, this means that all physical equipment that is connected to another device or the network itself is defined as an object ( PDA, hand-held scanner, bluetooth scanner, printer, mobile phone, DECT phone, Access points, IP-DECT bases, bluetooth devices ) ?

Is it possible to request features for the development of the system e.g. connectors to other systems like Servicedesk, CRM, Webshops.
User authentication is based on local users (locate in the SQL database) or interfaces towards LDAP for user authentication ?
Is it possible to have both types active at the same time in the system, some are local users and some are LDAP users ?
And if both types are used, the same roles/rights management apply ?
Are there any authentication interfaces than LDAP for user authentication supported?
Is nested groups groups supported and combinations of group "Domain Users" AND "Editor" which can be mapped towards the internal "roles/rights management system" ?

You can buy as many objects as you like. There is no upper limit. The largest installations we know of have 1.000.000+ objects.

At the moment - yes. But we are planning to open up an Add-store where you can offer Add-ons via our platform. We are still in the planning phase and final decisions won't be available before 2H / 18. However, the general idea of the store ist do leave price autonomy with our development partners - regardless of the i-doit license quantities.

We call the different CI classes "Object Types" and technically they are just a logical enclosure for a bunch of categories. You can define your own object types and you can define your own categories. So if you need to have a "DECT base" Object Type, just define it with the QCW (Quick Configuration Wizard, can be found in the administration). If you need to document which DECT phones are connected to which station, just create another object type "DECT phones" and a custom category (can also be found in the administration) "Connected DECT station" where you link DECT bases to DECT phones.

Yes, this is right. Even relations are objects, but they are not counted for the license.
Is there a roadmap for the system ?
There is a running roadmap, but it is not public at the moment.

We do have local and LDAP authorization. We also offer LDAP user synchronisation and SSO.

This is possible and the default. You always have local auth on in case the LDAP server connection gets lost.

The rights are ideally assigned to groups (roles), which can be synchronized to LDAP groups.

The standard method we use to identify the LDAP groups is to read the "memberOf" attributes. As far as I know nested groups are not shown as memberOf values for DNs in Active Directory. I do not know if there is some kind of workaround, so I can not give you a definite answer to this.

Thanks for all the answers! One more license question then so I really got it down.To license a system for 50,000 objects would require I assume would requires us to buy the 10,000 objects license level x 5 times:
10.000 + 10.000 + 10.000 + 10.000 + 10.000 = 50,000 objects 1.439,00 + 1.439,00 + 1.439,00 + 1.439,00 + 1.439,00 = 7.195,00 €Meaning a yearly subscription fee of 7.195,00 € for the i-doit pro version with support for 50,000 objects ?
