      Hello,
      What would be the best way to document the expansion slots like the server's PCI bus with it's various sockets PCIE x1, x2 ,x4 .. and know what interface card is plugged in which slot, I tried to look in the interfaces but it seems not really planned for that purpose. For example when I want to order a new interface card I have to search in the server specs to know what slot types are available and then go to the server and see what slots are already used,….

      More or less the same issue arise with memory slots, in real life you better know what type of memory socket you get and how they are populated when you want to add memory iif you do not want to open the box....

      New categories ?

      Thanks

      Patrick

        I would handle it with the interfaces like this:

        Server/Client -> Category Interface

        • New Interface Connectiontypes: PCIE x1, x2 and x3
        • New Interface Plugtype: Slot

        Object-Type Expansion Card

        • New Objectype: Expansion Card with Category Interface in it

        For checking the free slots you will need a customized report and our report-manager itslef (http://i-doit.org/demo/ (admin:admin) -> Reports, http://synetics.de/de/i_doit_support_box)
