Hi
I am in the process of incoorperating configuration data from i-doit into nagios via export. For this i set up an i-doit instance (SVN 0.9.9-3 Rev. 6172) besides our productive installation.
It seems as if i could assign the category "Nagios" to almost every Object-type configuration under "Administration/Object type configuration". But finally exporting the configurationfiles for nagios seems only possible for some Objtypes. After some
fiddling i managed to export entrys from contacts, hosts and hostescalations besides the predefined nagios-specific
sections (like e.g. timperiods and commands).
Until now i am not able to export service definitions tied to a host or service escalations. The corresponding files are created w/o any content. Of course i double-checked with the nagios-documentation to make sure that all requirements for these objects are indeed satisfied.
I also managed to set up an configuration in cmdb which prevented any exports for nagios. The webinterface stated an successful export but not a single file had been created in the exportdirectory. I had to re-install i-doit.
I turned on debugging in $g_config but got no clue about the problems in the nagios-export module.
Also it appears as if our current productive i-doit will pose some problems when it comes to exporting the real nagios-configs from it, as our current data lists only bare-metal systems under the object-type "server" and all real os-install
under the obj-type. "hosts". As stated above it seems as "hosts" are not relevant for nagios-exports. Am i right? Is there a way to deal with this w/o rebuidling our current setup of i-doit?
And is there a list of requirements for objects in i-doit to be included in nagios-exports? For example the german documentation states the Object "Hosts" for Hostentrys, though it seems as if only Objetcs under "Servers" are included. Providing Hosts with the category "Nagios" yields no effect even if provided with exactly the same data as an Entry under Server.
