    • RE: can be custom counter set to a specific value

      Hey @Michael-Overkamp

thank you very much for your quick answer.
I am sorry and feel a little ashamed to bother you with this obviously documented matter, I managed to find it myself in german KB.
I was just looking into english mutation https://kb.i-doit.com/en/basics/custom-counter.html which states just tbd. I myself would find it useful, if empty kb articles contained at least a ling to their german counterparts, as using translator is much easier for me than trying to find out what to search for in language I do not use fluently.

      Nevertheless, thank you again.

    • can be custom counter set to a specific value

      Hi,

we were using counters in automatic inventory numbers with counters set like:
      SRV%COUNTER:1#4%
where the first part (SRV here) is specific for each object type (ie SRV%COUNTER:1#4% for servers, SW%COUNTER:1#4% for switches etc.).
Until recently it worked like each object type had its own counter this way, but (with introduction of custom counters I believe, I dont know it exactly I just found it out now) counter COUNTER seems to be common for each object type now.
So if I have for example 500 servers and 2 switches, adding a switch generates number SW0501 instead of expected SW0003.
I could create a custom counter for each object type i want to use inventory number for, but trouble is it starts at 1 (or can be reset exactly to 1), but I already have a lot of devices labeled and starting from 1 would generate duplicate inventory numbers.
Thus creating custom counters and setting each one to desired value would do the trick for me, so the question is: can be custom counter set to a specific value? If so, how do I do it?

      Thanks

    • permission issues
      1. category permissions
I have created new object type and assigned group view and edit permissions with condition "category in object type" with parameters "all in MyObject"
This permission setting does not apply to overview page if set "Overview page as standard view Yes" in object type configuration. User does not see categories defined in "Categories on the overview", just the general one.
One can now add "Category" condition, which works, but allows users to read categories info across all objects they have permissions to.
        Can this be fixed?

      2. contacts and locations
When editting contact assignment one can clearly select from any contact in cmdb regardless whether he has permission to view them. Can this somehow be limited so user can choose only from contacts/groups he has at least view permissions to? I do not necesserily want to spoil all contact names and sites locations to all users.

    • object relations in custom categories

      Hello everybody,

I am using i-doit 1.17.2 PRO and when adding object relation field type in custom category, regarless on what addition I choose "Administration Service" gets saved instead. Is that a bug?

Can I somehow create category bound relations? Lets say I create custom category "cable" with relation that can be created or detached from any side and will appear/disappear in category attribute of the other object?
