How can i design new theme for i-doit?

is it possible to make new theme for i-doit different from smarty? use bootstrap or responsive design? -
Hey there,
in theory that is absolutely possible, but it would be very very hard work to get there. You would have to rewrite every single template (located underneath <i-doit>/src/themes/default) and probably update a lot of template specific javascript.
But there might be a more easy way… Take a look at our API client https://bitbucket.org/dstuecken/i-doit-api-clients it ships with a small "mobile-gui" example. That might be a good solution for you! Please consider that some very specific parts of i-doit will not be able to work the same way or need to be implemented completely by yourself (like CMDB-Explorer, Floorplan and other Add-Ons ...).

Hey,
Not sure if this is helpful, but currently we are working on an Add-on to let the users customize the design. It's not making i-doit responsive and doesn't make the structure itself changeable but it makes all the colors customizable.
I added two screenshots of the current beta. If you are interested in it, please let me know.
