Automate the export to a folder.
Optional: provide access to this folder via a webserver

We have an file server running, so that would be the best solution? So not to store Windows pre-build config images/barracuda config files on i-Doit?

I tried the external File-Link i added like this: Z:\i-doit-test config,

its an fileserver share, but it does not work. so there should be something else?

i also checked the second thing:
upload_max_filesize = 128M i changed it to upload_max_filesize = 250M

i found it where i can upload files.

but it was not on all categories available, so i needed to add it (called files)

now my question is how to increase the file size? its now 128mb, i want to do it at 200mb should be enough.

we are using XAMPP, so i cannot use linux commands.

i found something in XAMPP php.ini file

Quick question.

Is it possible to upload for example firewall configurations and attach them to the object in i-Doit?

We have here running about 15 barracuda firewalls with different configuration files.
And want to attach them to an object, will this be possible?

This is to have the backup directly available. For example if we need to replace one firewall, we directly have the correct configuration file in iDoit.

So as previous told.

We have created a membergroup in AD-DS

So i have made an LDAP connection in i-Doit, it found 36 objects.
And we can login using our windows credentials.

But if you never was logged in i-Doit will not see your account. So you need to login at least one time.

This i need to change.
I want to know where he stores the logged in users?
Is it possible to have group where it stores? and i put all of them there.

Because i need to have the "view group" enabled that users can see some things in i-Doit, so its easier to give rights to an group then individuals.

We USE XAMPP webserver on Windows therefore the knowledge base is not applicable for our solution.

we want to use Zammad helpdesk and we tried to connect it.

So there is an connection, because when you go to clients, and take one device, and press on the ticket button. it redirects you to our selfhosted zammad helpdesk tool. But the actual device is not in the list.

and also when you create an ticket from Zammad directly and want to choose hardware, it says i-Doit but the list is empty?

anything else i need to do? the knowledgebase of zammad is not that big.

I am setting up the email/notification part. So that our contracts on time will be notified to us when one is expiring soon.

So i have created an notification/
Created an new contact, what will be the receiver sharedmailbox@domain.com
Added the group to watch the contracts contracts.
Added the content it self as well.

in the SMTP settings i have added our M365
smtp.office365.com account + username + password.
Port: 587
etc.

So i added an test warranty of expiring today in this case yesterday and one for today. But we do not receive any notification in the email box.

Is there also an way to test it directly? to run maybe a check?

Thank you Martin, it worked for me.
I did not saw the dropdown menu for persons. And i saw all the persons who logged in once on the system.

And tried to add, and it works.

Is there an overview page as well?
For example i want to add monitors, docking stations etc also to assign to persons. Is there a page where i can see who is assigned to what hardware?

i have again an question.

I want to assign for example laptops monitors, docking stations to an user.
Because we will use i-doit as our cmdb as well so assigning hardware to users is one part of it. This is one part of DRP (Disaster recovery plan)

I cannot find any field, option where i can assign the created hardware to an user.

Am i doing something wrong or is this not possible in i-doit?

I am trying to understand the list, its for Linux based? we use it life in XAMPP and its up and running, can reach the domain, users can connect with their windows accont to our i-doit server.

The problem is, i dont understand the filters, where i do need to enter them or how to add them.

We have created an i-doit security group in AD, and added all the users in it.
And then filter 3 as in the picture we added memberOf to that group (in our case i-dot access)

I need your great help again regarding adding people to the i-doit systems here in our office.

So we managed to use the knowledge-base of installing it on a Windows server 2019 via XAMPP.

So i managed to have an LDAP connection.

• Created an security group, put all our users in that group, and modified the filter.
  

But the strange thing is, all the users need to login once that i can see them in the persons list. Can this be changed? that its already there?

And my second question is, how to provide the best and quickest rights to the people. Because i tried with the IT persons, non of them had access.
But i need to provide access for each condition, this should be easier right?

i have managed somehow to get a template working, so it shows now finally the counting in the infrastructure list.

And within the docking stations, i can enter the model number, serial number etc.
But it shows me not how it does with other ones.

At other objects, it does not show the ID. how can i change this?

and the second thing is.

here it shows only the first part of the object. and the rest i need to press on the "model" and then can i edit.

But with other objects, all things are in one huge list underneath each other. how to fix this?

i just checked, and they are showing but weird.

but i dont know what am i doing wrong.

For the AD Import you need:

a) a script
b) an automatic task (called cronjob in LINUX

The script is like this:

store this as /usr/bin/ldapsync.sh

You can organize your cronjobs if you use this command:

sudo crontab  -e

And add this example;

30 2 * * 1-6 /bin/bash /usr/bin/ldapsync.sh

Did you check the condition (normal, archive)? Sometimes this is "remembered" between tabs.

Do you have any validation on Model > serial number. Maybe this kicks in after the creation.

It increased within the objects from 90 to 130 objects so its adding them.
But to answer your question, when you press on one the created docking station objects in "My last changed objects"

you get the normal list to see without the model part i dont know why

because when you go to the wizard i added the model part to it.
