Hi, I am not sure why this is not answered yet but for the next person looking for an answer: No, it is not possible to import Objects out of Nagios or Check_MK. Kind Regards, Christian

Wow. I think you can get it to work by manually search and replacing database links in the sourcecode. But this will be absolutely fragile and unupdateable. Why dont you just get a dedicated 5 Euro per month dedicated server? The specs for running i-doit are really low for a small installation.

Ciao Sven

Hi, Im sorry to say that this will be fixed in the next Open version. We are going to release i-doit Pro 1.8 this month and expect a new i-doit Open Version to be released later this year. Kind regards, Daniel Kirsten

Hi, First of all you should use a folder like "i-doit", so that there is not a version in your URL. For the installation you do not have to use the "?load=update" at the end. If you use an easy name for your folder, you should reach i-doit with an URL like http://localhost/i-doit and see the installation process. Since you are using the open version of i-doit, our installation description in our Knowledge Base is not perfect but shows how to do it correctly. You can find it under https://i-doit.atlassian.net/wiki/display/KB/Installing+i-doit+pro Kind Regards

Hi, As you can see, the database seems to exist already. You have to drop it so that you can install i-doit. Kind Regards

Solved it… i-doit does not play nice with special characters in the database password... Simple plain text and it just works. @marcjurriens: I just installed i-doit open to see if it fits our needs, it looks it will from the info I have read. I have installed according to the following installation procedure: https://i-doit.atlassian.net/wiki/display/KB/Installing+i-doit+pro (not for the open version..) Every check done by the installation procedure has been green and in then end the system asked me to logon with admin/admin in the admin console by pressing "next". Pressing "next" however gives me an error: Database error : Access denied for user 'idoit'@'localhost' (using password: YES) () That looks like a mysql access error, but all pre-flight checks by the installation procedure were green.. What am I missing ?  I see several posts on this but I cannot find one that tells me (in easy terms) how to fix this… The idoit user was created by the installation procedure as far as I understand, so that should just have worked.. Right ?

Got the same problem, but with with xml-import through h-inventory. Source of problem: xml-file was transferred from windows host, so contained carriage return characters and had unsupported??? encoding (UTF-8) Solution: Edit you file with vim/vi as follow :%s/\r//g and chenge encoding to Windows-1251. It works, at list for me.
